The fall of the Assad dictatorship creates a unique opportunity for true peace in the Middle East. This is a once-in-a-generation chance to achieve real, long-term change in the region and beyond. It is also time to recognize Israel's critical role in making this historic moment possible. As the only bastion of democracy and human rights in the Middle East, Israel has consistently fought against Iran, Hezbollah, and Hamas, weakening Iran’s iron grip on the region.
We must move beyond merely defending Israel's right to exist—something they have proven they can do—and start acknowledging Israel’s pivotal role in fostering stability and paving the way for a lasting peace. However, this potential can only be realized if the United States and other nations act wisely to seize this historic opportunity.
