Brigadier General (res.) Amir Avivi will address vital national security concerns at the Israel Appreciation Day 2024 virtual event.
General Avivi is the Founder and Chairman of Israel’s Defense and Security Forum (IDSF), comprised of more than 30,000 retired senior officers, commanders, and operators from all branches of the Israeli security establishment that educate and advocate for Israeli National Security priorities that will ensure its existence and prosperity for generations to come.
Avivi retired from the Israeli Defense Forces in 2017 with more than 30 years of military, counter-terrorism, and national security experience. In his most recent role, he served as the Head of the Auditing and Consulting Department of the Israeli Defense Establishment IDF, Ministry of Defense and Israeli Military Industries). In that position, Avivi managed more than 100 auditors and advisors and was responsible for audit and consulting services in various fields of expertise: Readiness, Budgeting, Procurement, Projects, Bids, Cyber, Logistics, Infrastructure, and Operations.
Avivi fulfilled various command positions in the Corps of Engineers leading thousands of soldiers in a dynamic environment combating terrorism. Avivi served as a Brigade commander, Deputy Division commander, and head of the Military School of Engineers. While serving as the Israeli General Chief of Staff's aid-de-camp, Avivi was at the heart of the policy-making process in the Israeli Government and Defense establishment.
Avivi also serves as the principal of the New State Solution working group and is an expert and lecturer at the Miryam Institute.
Avivi received his MBA (Cum Laude) from Ono Academic College, his MA in National Security and Political Science from Haifa University, and his BA (Magna cum Laude) in Political Science and American History from Bar Ilan University. He is also a graduate of the Israeli National Defense College.
Avivi is fluent in English, Spanish, Italian and Hebrew.
