Pro-Israel advocate and actress Rebecca De Mornay announced that she will take part in Israel Appreciation Day 2024.
De Mornay’s screen debut was in the classic film Risky Business, in which she played a street-wise call-girl to an impressionable Tom Cruise. In her subsequent 55+ roles on stage and screen she has consistently been singled out by critics as an actress of striking intensity, range, and skill, including for her highly acclaimed portrayal of a psychotic nanny in the international box-office smash The Hand That Rocks The Cradle. Her most recent film is Saint Clare, which premiered at the Taormina Film Festival in Sicily in July 2024.
De Mornay was born in California, raised almost entirely in England and Austria, and is fluent in German and French. She has directed a film, is in final edits of her first novel, and has written an as-yet unproduced screenplay. Rebecca has two beloved daughters, Sophia and Veronica, and she resides in Los Angeles.
De Mornay will add to the rich mosaic of personalities speaking at the September 18th live event. Israel Appreciation Day is a non-partisan, interfaith, and grassroots celebration showcasing the unique bond between the State of Israel and the United States of America. Event chairman Robert Chernin states, "Israel Appreciation Day is a powerful demonstration of support for Israel, highlighting its shared values with America, its crucial role as the only democracy and the United States' only steadfast ally in the Middle East, and its many important contributions to the world."
